Sustainable IT: OSP cooperates with Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI)
End of March, the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) launched a virtual "clean IT" forum as part of its "openHPI" IT learning platform. The forum acts as an international exchange platform for research, IT industry, politics and interest groups to discuss issues of sustainable and climate-friendly digitization.

As one of the first cooperation partners of this free course offering, OSP is also involved in "clean-IT". Dr. Niklas Pietsch, Data Scientist at OSP, dedicates his presentation to the topic of "Dataminimalism in AI". As part of the Otto Group, which has always focused on responsible and sustainable action, OSP is committed to "Responsible Commerce" in various areas.
The aim of the course series of "clean-IT: Towards Sustainable Digital Technologies" is to raise awareness of the energy footprint of IT systems and to discuss solutions on how to manage the growing energy demand of data centers and applications such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Blockchain.
For this purpose, the virtual learning platform "openHPI" offers free access to current university knowledge in the rapidly changing field of IT and innovation. The program includes numerous offerings for IT beginners and experts.
